Salta, known as “La Linda” (the beautiful) for its picturesque architecture, the colonial style of its houses, streets and monuments that honor its place as one of the economic bastions of the Viceroyalty of Peru.

The city is centered on the Plaza 9 de Julio, elegant and surrounded by cafes, around which are located the Cathedral of Salta and El Cabildo, an 18th century town hall transformed into a museum.

Nearby is the Museum of High Mountain Archeology (MAAM), which houses Inca artifacts and mummies.

This fantastic combination of colonial architecture with the heritage and culture of the Andean peoples, make it an unmissable city and an obligatory stop on your visit to Argentina.

Full day excursion to Salinas Grandes

One of the most visited destinations in the Puna de Jujuy region is undoubtedly the Salinas Grandes.
This is our invitation to discover a way of life and an ancient economic activity such as the extraction and commercialization of SALT.
An unmissable day visiting the salt flats, their communities, their workers and the processes that led to this mineral to be a first-class renewable exploitation asset.
La Salina, the landscapes that surround it and its people, make it possible to enjoy and learn from the processes of salt to reach its consumption and the subsistence of many saltpeter towns.
A bold proposal in the Puna. Maximum altitude 4170 meters above sea level. Departure 9 am, return 5 pm.

Excursion to Iruya

I discovered the Iruya Valley region on a journey through time.
In this transitional environment between the desert and the jungle, crossing 4000 meters above sea level, are the High Valleys; where the ancient settlers were able to organize food self-sufficiency based on cultivation terraces that they built on the slopes of the mountains, taking advantage of the spring water that rises at the top of the hills.
These millenary traditions are in force today and like this one, they dazzle us with their history.
Nestled in the middle of these mythical mountains is the town of Iruya. It is a town in the province of Salta (Argentina) head of the Iruya department.
It is located at 2,780 meters above sea level, on the eastern slopes of the Sierra de Santa Victoria, 307 km from the capital of Salta. It is within the perimeter of the Yungas biosphere reserve.
Upon arriving in Iruya, the first impression is of a town “hanging on the mountain”, or rather of an island, since it is surrounded by the Milmahuasi and Colanzulí -or Iruya- rivers.
Its colonial building with narrow streets and its landscapes of imposing panoramic views stand out. In its vicinity, 5 km to the northeast, are the ruins of Pucara de Titiconte.
Here, the inhabitants, clothing, customs and houses have maintained their tradition for 250 years. The town conserves its narrow and cobbled streets, with houses made of adobe, stones and straw.
Following the bed of the rivers that cross the interior, there are streams of different shapes and colors. The flagstone in some sections has formed retaining walls of the river. Info: Maximum altitude 4000 meters above sea level.
Departure 9 am, return 6 pm.

Excursion to Cachi

Cachi is a locality of the homonymous Department, within the Calchaquíes Valleys in the province of Salta, northwest of the Argentine Republic.
On February 18, 1975, it was declared a National Historic Site by Decree 370 of the Executive Power of the Nation. DURATION: 1 full day
